Waydic privacy policy.

Last updated: April 18, 2026

Waydic (“we”, “the app”) is an iOS application that calculates auspicious timing (muhurats) based on traditional Vedic astrology. This policy describes exactly what data the app handles, why, and where it goes.

We've tried to keep this short and honest.

1. What Waydic collects from you

When you first open the app, during onboarding, you provide:

  • Birth date and birth time (optional, improves accuracy)
  • Birth place (city / country, converted to coordinates)
  • Your first name (optional, used only for in-app greetings)

The app also uses, only while you use it:

  • Current location (city-level accuracy, approximately 3 km) to compute accurate sunrise/sunset and muhurat windows where you are
  • Microphone input and speech recognition, only if you actively tap a voice-search button
  • Notification permission, only if you enable notifications

All of the above is collected only on your device and stored locally on your device in iOS's standard app storage (UserDefaults). We do not run a server. We do not have a user account system. We do not sync your data across devices.

2. What Waydic sends off your device

Waydic is a mostly offline app, but three kinds of network requests happen:

2.1 Google Gemini (AI insights)

To generate personalized written insights for some muhurat windows, Waydic sends astrological data derived from your birth details, such as your Vedic birth nakshatra, moon sign, tithi, and the name of the activity you're looking at, to Google's Gemini API (generativelanguage.googleapis.com).

What we send:

  • Derived astrological attributes (nakshatra name, moon sign, tithi, weekday, the current transit, and similar astrological factors)
  • The name of the business or personal activity being assessed
  • No first name, no exact birth time, no precise birth place, no exact location coordinates, and no contact information

Google Gemini processes this data to generate the text that appears in the insight. Google's handling of that data is governed by the Gemini API terms and the Google Privacy Policy.

If you'd prefer no data to be sent to Google Gemini, you can use the app entirely offline. The muhurat calculations and ratings will continue to work. Only the AI-written insight text requires the network.

2.2 PostHog (anonymous analytics)

To understand which features are used and whether the app is working reliably, Waydic sends anonymous, aggregated events to PostHog, routed exclusively through PostHog's EU region (eu.i.posthog.com) so your analytics data stays in the EU. Examples of events:

  • app_launched, app_became_active
  • onboarding_completed, onboarding_step_completed
  • tab_selected, screen_viewed, settings_opened
  • muhurat_detail_opened with a generic rating label (“Auspicious”, etc.)

The PostHog SDK is configured in a privacy-preserving mode: anonymous-only profiles (personProfiles: .identifiedOnly, never identified), session replay disabled, automatic screen capture disabled. Only the event names and generic properties listed above are transmitted.

What we do not send through analytics: your name, your birth date, your birth time, your birth place, your current location, your coordinates, or any piece of content that could identify you.

PostHog's privacy policy is at posthog.com/privacy.

2.3 Apple's standard app services

Like every iOS app, Waydic uses Apple services that you have already agreed to through iOS itself (App Store delivery, crash reporting you've opted into under iOS Settings → Privacy & Security → Analytics & Improvements). We do not receive any additional data from these services beyond what Apple provides in aggregate.

3. What Waydic does not do

  • No account. No sign-up, no login, no password, no email collection.
  • No tracking across other apps or websites. Waydic does not show the App Tracking Transparency (ATT) prompt because it does not track you.
  • No advertising.
  • No sale of data to anyone, ever.
  • No access to your contacts, photos, calendar, health data, or files.

4. Your rights and how to delete your data

Because all of your birth and profile data lives only on your device, you have complete control over it:

  • To delete all stored data, uninstall Waydic from your iPhone. iOS will remove all app data automatically.
  • To reset without uninstalling, advanced users can reach a “Reset All Data” control from within the app's Settings screen.
  • To revoke a permission (location, microphone, notifications, speech recognition), go to iOS Settings → Waydic and toggle the relevant permission. The app will continue to function, with reduced features.
  • To stop AI insights, use the app offline (turn on Airplane Mode, or disable Waydic's internet access from iOS Settings → Waydic → Cellular / Wi-Fi & Cellular).

If you have a question about what Waydic stores or sends, email the address in section 7 and we will answer honestly.

5. Children

Waydic is not directed to children under 13 and is not in the iOS Kids Category. We do not knowingly collect data from children. Birth dates you enter during onboarding are used only to compute an astrological chart; they are not verified, and they are never sent off your device.

6. Changes to this policy

If Waydic ever begins collecting or sharing a new kind of data, for example, if we add a server, an account system, or a new third-party SDK, this policy will be updated before that change ships, and the “Last updated” date at the top of this document will change.
